Begin at the inner corner of the eye, drawing a fine line as close to the lash line as possible with no visible gap. Continue the thin line across two-thirds of the lid, then gradually thicken it while sweeping the pen slightly upward and outward rather than following the eye's downward curve. Keep drawing diagonally upwards past the end of the eye, so the flick ends about 2mm from the outer corner. Look straight into the mirror throughout, since looking down pulls the line downwards. For a more intense look, add a fine line under the bottom lashes at the outer corner, joining it to the top liner for a lifted effect.
