Corsodyl medicated mouthwash helps fight gum disease and stop bleeding gums with its chlorhexidine digluconate formula. This alcohol free rinse from a trusted British brand is ideal for daily oral care after dental surgery or for managing mouth ulcers.
Corsodyl Intensive Treatment mouthwash contains chlorhexidine digluconate, an antibacterial agent that reduces dental plaque. It is used to treat and prevent gum disease, promote gum healing after dental surgery or treatment, control mouth ulcers, maintain mouth hygiene, and manage oral thrush and denture sore mouth.
Ingredients: Active ingredient: Chlorhexidine Digluconate 0.2% w/v. Other ingredients: Glycerol, Macrogolglycerol Hydroxystearate, Sorbitol Liquid (Non-Crystallising), Peppermint Flavour and Purified Water. Macrogolglycerol Hydroxystearate may cause skin reactions.
How to use: Use twice a day. Fill the cap to 10 ml line. Rinse mouth thoroughly for 1 minute then spit out. Do not swallow. For gum disease, a one month course (600 ml) is recommended. For mouth ulcers and oral thrush, continue for 2 days after healing. For denture sore mouth, clean and soak dentures in Corsodyl for 15 minutes twice a day. After dental surgery, rinse as directed by your dentist. If symptoms persist, see your dentist.
Warnings: Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the pack. Temporary staining of teeth may occur; it can be removed by brushing or by a dentist or hygienist. Do not use if you have ever had an allergic reaction to chlorhexidine digluconate or any other ingredients. Do not use in children under 12 unless recommended by a dentist. Avoid contact with eyes and ears. Do not use immediately after brushing your teeth. Toothpastes can stop Corsodyl working; rinse your mouth thoroughly with water and wait 5 minutes after brushing. Do not bleach fabrics that have been in contact with the mouthwash. You can use Corsodyl if pregnant or breastfeeding.
Possible side effects: Stop using and seek immediate medical help if you get a rash, swelling of the lips, tongue, throat or face or have difficulty breathing (severe allergic reaction, very rare). Stop using and tell your dentist if you get irritation of the mouth, soreness or swelling of the inside of the cheeks. Other side effects that may occur: temporary staining of the tongue (disappears when treatment stops), temporary staining of the teeth (can be removed by brushing; avoid tea, coffee or red wine one hour after use), change of taste or burning sensation (usually goes away with continued use). If peeling of the skin inside the mouth occurs, dilute Corsodyl with an equal amount of water.
