Designed exclusively for Fortnum & Mason, Gardens of Lyra takes inspiration from tea plantations around the world and their surrounding landscapes. Beautifully collaged and cloned visuals of the transferware pattern found in Spode's extensive archive are depicted throughout this mythical collection. These original engravings carry feint scratches, marks or 'blemishes' in their surface, which when printed are realised in delicate lines and fading graphics, a kind of beauty only bestowed by repeated use and the passage of time.
