Holland & Barrett MenoCool Black Cohosh tablets are a traditional herbal medicine that can help to relieve symptoms of the menopause, including hot flushes, night sweats and temporary mood changes.
Black cohosh (Cimicifuga racemose) is a herb from the buttercup family, also known as Black Snakeroot, Rattleweed and Bugbane. It originated in North America and was used by native people there for centuries to help relieve the symptoms of menopause and menstrual irregularities, including hot flushes, night sweats and temporary changes in mood like nervous irritability and restlessness.
The most common symptoms of the menopause include hot flushes and night sweats which usually last for around 4 years but have also been recorded to last up to 15 years. Black cohosh root can help to relieve these uncomfortable symptoms.
