Le Gall butter is made in Finistère. Here, at the far western point of Brittany in France, cows can graze outside on fresh grass for a large part of the year, thanks to the mild climate of this coastal region.
Le Gall is proud to manufacture its butter following the traditional method for 100 years and their secret is to take their time to do things properly and obtain the best quality.
To ensure the best quality and the finest taste, this butter is made exclusively using fermented cream which will then be churned in drums. The cream used is exclusively from fresh milk. One of the particularities of Le Gall's butter is that the lactic starters used in the process are unique, carefully selected from the milk of their partners milk producers. They are selected and concentrated to obtain the best cultures with a stronger taste, typicity and above all a unique signature. This is then enhanced by the biological and physical maturation of the cream after the addition of the starters to give time for all the flavours and aromas to emerge and develop in the cream. The cream is then delicately churned in churning drums to avoid damaging the product and ensure the best texture.
The sea salt crystal used in this product also give unique qualities to it with a delicate salty flavour which slowly diffuse into your mouth added to a slightly crunchy texture.
The butter is 100% natural, no artificial colouring, flavouring, preservatives, or additives.
Le Gall Master Buttermaker explains that while manufacturing this butter, they use their senses to guide them during each production stage: they listen to the sound that the butter makes in the churn, they smell how it is developing, they see when it is ready, they seize the moment when its appearance and colour is just right, they touch it to make sure it has the right texture and they taste it to determine how successful the butter is.
This is why Le Gall's butter has this characteristic butter taste which will bring back childhood memories of the fresh butter directly made in farms.

You can use Le Gall's butter to also create your own butter and brings originality to your dishes. Take the butter out of the fridge for one hour allowing him to soften as beurre pommade then mix it with your chosen ingredients already chopped or broken down using a fork. Wrap the butter in a cling film and put it in the fridge to cool and solidify. Why not try to add garlic and herbs perfect on steak or green vegetables or seaweed ideal on steamed fish. If you have a sweet tooth, you can add pieces of raspberries, delicious on a slice of warm brioche.
