The patchouli in Good Karma shower gel comes from Sumatra, from a partner who is demonstrating how to work with Permaculture principles to grow crops while also conserving primary rainforest. Their demonstration farm is in the buffer zone of the Leuser Ecosystem, where wild rhinos, elephants, and orangutans coexist in a rich, green environment. Palm oil, human 'development', and mining are threatening the ecosystem, but our supplier is showcasing how Permaculture can teach us how to work in partnership with Nature, not against it.
