Serve this 20-year-old single malt neat or with water to reveal its depth, a signature British spirit matured for two decades in Scotland.
Tamed for 20 years for a whisky worthy of the Mortlach mark of distinction.
1973. Glenrinnes Lodge. The daughter of the Mortlach mastermind makes a discovery. As her family home is renovated a wooden box is found. Within it, carefully packed in straw, are 12 bottles of whisky that have long been forgotten. They are her father Dr Alexander Cowie's private stock, a deliciously complex dram that dates back to 1909.
This is a whisky to make Alexander Cowie proud. A reimagining of his Blue Seal, our very best Scotch, matured for a minimum of 20 years to tame The Beast of Dufftown into smooth submission.
Please drink responsibly: The UK Chief Medical Officers recommend adults do not regularly drink more than 14 units per week.
Nose: Dense, elegant & intriguing. Dried fruit, cedar wood, leather and tobacco. Palate: Robust palate with a coating of oiliness. Aromatic citrus. Hints of wood spice opening into a dark, meatiness of barbecue pork crackling. Berries, jam & cocoa nibs add brightness. Finish: Deep and complex, with gingerbread, raisin and a hint of liquorice.
