Planteray XO 20th anniversary rum was created in 2009 by the Planteray rum team to honour our founder, Alexandre Gabriel, and his 20 years as our master blender. His beautiful Barbados rum is a blend of extra-old rums produced at the famous West Indies Rum Distillery on Brighton Beach. Rested in ex-bourbon casks in the birthplace of rum, Barbados, our rum then sets sail to the south-west of France, where the old rum is then transferred to toasted ex-Ferrand casks for a further period of maturation. This Double Ageing process is a time-honoured tradition that Alexandre was desperate to emulate with Planteray Rum. The dynamic maturation during the long sea voyage, combined with the tropical and continental environments, is the hallmark of Planteray Rum. His creates a rum with notes of tropical fruits, ripe banana, chocolate and toasted coconut.
