The vineyards of Gaillac in South West France were first planted in Roman times, so the region has a rich history of winemaking. Winemaker Jean-Noël Barrau and his team are passionate about the Gamay grape and make wines which showcase its fruity and juicy character.

History: Created in 2006, Vinovalie is a cooperative company that brings together the cellars of Rabastens and Técou in the Tarn, Fronton in Haute-Garonne and Côtes d'Olt in the Lot. Managed by Jacques Tranier, the group represents 450 winegrowers, 4,000 hectares of vines, employs 156 people and has a turnover of 46 million.
Regional information: The Gaillac wine-growing region is located close to Toulouse in the South West of France and it is one of the oldest wine-growing regions back to the 4th century B.C. The combination of both the Mediterranean with the ocean climate with a hint of warm dry wind 'Autan' provides the perfect weather conditions for winegrowing.
Vinification: Grapes from 20 year old vines which are mechanically harvested during August and September. Fermentation takes place at 19-21 degrees C. Thermo treated with short maceration and alcoholic fermentation in a thermo-regulated tank.
