"Our wines must be flattering both on the palate and on the eye" Madame Clicquot, 1828 In 1818, Madame Clicquot invented the first known blended rosé champagne by blending her white wines with red wines, a process that remains to this day in the Maison and in the Champagne region. Veuve Clicquot Rosé is the result of a blending of grapes from as many as 50 to 60 different crus and is composed of up to 45% reserve wines. This cuvée, based on the traditional Yellow Label blend and completed with Pinot Noir red wine, reveals red fruit aromas, gourmandise and strength. Following the Maison's quest for progress, all Veuve Clicquot giftboxes are now made from hemp sourced in the Champagne region, as well as recycled paper. Hemp has many agronomic and environmental advantages. Very resistant by nature, this plant has a short growth cycle, helps to regenerate soils, and does not require water irrigation.
