Shake it into a classic Caipirinha cocktail or simply serve ZECA de Matos Cachaça chilled with ginger beer and lemon. This 40% ABV Brazilian spirit is made from 100-year-old high-altitude sugar cane in Minas Gerais, using a traditional estate method. It offers balanced hints of dark wood, spice and exotic floral notes.
In 1891, the Matos family moved from Portugal to the wild region of Minas Gerais in Brazil. The concept of Cachaça terroir is relatively new, and in this case comes in the form of 100 year old plantations that grow at a high altitude - resulting in a spirit that is incredibly focussed, clean and delicate.
Unlike the vast amount of Cachaça produced in Brazil, ZECA is 100% grown, distilled and matured on the estate, in a traditional and sustainable method. The sugar cane is protected by indigenous anteaters - which are depicted on the brand's label.
Perfectly balanced with hints of dark wood, spice and exotic floral notes, ZECA de Matos Cachaça makes the superb base for a traditional Caipirinha cocktail. Alternatively, serve chilled with Sicilian lemonade, ginger beer or simply on the rocks with a twist of lemon.
